The IUU_Lab is where the Instituto Universitario de Urbanistica gets one of its main objectives done: development of research projects and works in the area of the Urban and Regional Planning. This purpose is fulfilled and carried out by members of the Recognized Research Group ‘Territorial and Urban Planning’ and hired researchers.
The realization of these projects and works also allows to fulfill other objectives on the educational side: it helps the formation of undergraduate students through initiation scholarships to research and collaborative grants by the University of Valladolid and the Spanish Ministry of Education, or even with the figure of curricural practices. In addition, the IUU_Lab welcomes research stays of graduate students from various universities and external research centres, including those involved in programs organized by the IUU.
The IUU_Lab also constitutes the editorial office of the IUU, where journal Ciudades and other publications are edited and laid out. Similarly, it is also responsible for organizing training activities such as courses or conferences, as well as other specific divulgation activities as IUU’s Fridays or maintenance of IUU Blog and social networks.
