Sergio Cantero Celada was born in Valladolid in 1988. He finished his studies of Architecture at the University of Valladolid in 2013. During his degree, he was part of the “Instituto Universitario de Urbanística” with a research grant and he was involved in the project for the revision of the Master Plan of Valladolid.
Since 2016 he has been a continuous member and collaborator of the “Instituto Universitario de Urbanística” and he has participated in several research projects and activities. Nowadays, he is developing the European project INTENSSS-PA as a contributor to the activities of the Institute and, at the same time, as regional coordinator of the project within Castilla y León and responsible of the work for the regional government (the other national partner). This project is endorsed at the framework program HORIZON 2020, involving 17 partners coming from 7 different Member States, and aiming at enhancing and improving the capacity-building of public authorities in the management and integration of spatial and energy planning in the region.
He also has international working experience and background in Europe (he was part of a Dutch office in Rotterdam) and in Asia (he worked at an international company based in Beijing, China), where he worked in both architecture and urban planning projects. He was in charge of the urban design of the proposals developed.
