Purposes and activities
The IUU_Lab is where one of the main aims of the Instituto Universitario de Urbanistica is fulfilled, namely the development of research projects and works in the area of Urban and Regional Planning, carried out by the ordinary members of the Institute and by contracted staff, directed by Juan Luis de las Rivas Sanz.
The carrying out of these projects and works also allows the fulfilment of other objectives of a teaching nature, as it gives rise to the training of undergraduate and master’s degree students, through grants for initiation to research or collaboration awarded by the Social Council of the University of Valladolid or the Ministry of Education, or through the figure of curricular internships. The IUU_Lab also facilitates the training of PhD students, through pre-doctoral contracts, and hosts visiting researchers from different universities and external research centres.
The IUU_Lab also constitutes the editorial office of the IUU, where journal Ciudades and other publications are edited and laid out. Similarly, it is also responsible for organizing training activities such as courses or seminars, as well as other specific dissemination activities as IUU’s Fridays or maintenance of IUU Blog and social networks.
