Javier Pérez Gil (San Andrés del Rabanedo, Leon, Spain, 1977). Degree in Art History from the University of León (1999) and PhD from the University of Valladolid (2004), he is Professor in the Department of Theory of Architecture and Architectural Projects at the University of Valladolid, where he teaches History of Architecture and Conservation Theory. He is the coordinator of the PID “Innovation and mainstreaming: implementation of collaborative learning the architectural Heritage and Urbanism in Castilla y León” and he also participates in various master’s degrees and national courses of expertise.
Regular member of the GIR “Planificación Territorial y Urbanística” and external collaborator in the GIR “Humanist” (BB 091, ULE), he has gained recognition for three six-year national-quality research (CNEAI). He has developed his research in the fields of History of Architecture and Urbanism (especially the Royal Sites) and Theory of Architecture and Cultural Heritage (conceptualization and Conservation). In this sense, he is author of the books Monarquía y Monacato en la Edad Media peninsular (Universidad de León, 2002), El Palacio de la Ribera. Recreo y boato en el Valladolid cortesano (Ayuntamiento de Valladolid, 2002), El Palacio Real de Valladolid (Universidad de Valladolid, 2006), El Palacio Real de León (Edilesa, 2006), Un gentil pedazo de Villa. La Corredera de San Pablo de Valladolid en el siglo XVI (Diputación de Valladolid, 2008), El sueño de Gunzo.
